Ok so details are a bit spotty so heres two sections

Vague recollections:
I think the movie starts with the main character in some sort of space prison with two people moving to recruit him for a mission
The movie takes place in a foundry like setting on a mars like planet.
The commander who tasked them with the mission shows up near the end and reveals it was a setup to test a new type of weapon

Almost Certain about:
This scene is what i remember most about the movie, One of the soldiers goes outside to check an outer building, It explodes and everyone believes him to be dead. After almost all the other soldiers have been killed, The person hunting them reveals itself as the soldier who went outside, He’s actually a mutant (Not a gross or extreme kind, Im pretty sure he’s like a less severe baraka from mortal kombat) The scene switches to a flashback of the explosion and after all the soldiers stop looking outside, his body starts to seizure as he transforms so he can survive the enviroment.

My timeline is wide on this cause im honestly not sure when the damn thing was made. pretty sure i watched it around 2003, I know for certain it was on Austar which pretty much stopped being a thing in 2012. It was one of those late night we dont actually expect anyone to be watching type movies.

With a bit of imagination, every thing you said, suits.
