I’m trying to find the name of a European series (I think) about a female scientist who is up on a snow-capped mountain top in a lab with a male co-worker when some kind of disaster is imminent. She calls her younger sister to join her up there to be safe. Her sister tries to get there but is caught in a traffic jam. She leaves her car and runs for cover, finding a culvert to hide in. I think there was a little girl she found there as well who had been separated from her parents. I’m thinking it’s European because the scenery that I remember (snow, mountains, accents, etc.). Anyway, the female scientist goes to search for her sister and is joined by a few people military people (one of which her younger sisters ends up with later on and they have a baby). There are other people and other plot lines and it’s not as boring as I’m probably making it sound. 😊 If I’m not mistaken (or getting two separate series confused), the disaster is humans coming from a different futuristic timeline trying to find someone to alter their own timeline because they are about to become extent due to their inability to have children…..something along those lines. I watched it a year or so ago. My daughter says she thinks it’s something I dreamed up. LOL
I can’t for the life of me find out what the name of it was. I’ve searched google, IMDb, etc., and haven’t had any luck. Anyone know? Thanks!

I have not seen this and I did not dig particularly deep into it, so this is just a very wild guess:

> **[Dark (TV Series 2017–2020) ⭐ 8.7 | Crime, Drama, Mystery](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5753856/)**
>
> 1h | TV-MA

Another guess, but I think this does not match your details perfectly, but you said maybe you are mixing up two movies/series:

> **[Continuum (TV Series 2012–2015) ⭐ 7.6 | Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1954347/)**
>
> 45m | TV-14

This part sounds like “Fringe”

> **[Fringe (TV series)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fringe_(TV_series))**
>

I found the name of the series. It is an adaptation of War of the Worlds, with Gabriel Byrne. It’s on MGM.
