I was a little girl and all I remember is a late 1970s-early 1980s movie with a dog staying near its dead owner. It was a cabin in the woods and a family came across the dog and he would not leave the owner behind.

Thank you but that is not it. The movie I was talking about is newer. My movie was in the woods.
