# Medieval / time travel movie, war

Im looking for a movie, id say late 80s, to mid 90s.

A guy escapes somrwhere (i think) and he “lands”, in 1500-1600s. Eg no tech etc all very medieval.

He gets patched up by the local townsfolk. And a religious guy or town elder takes him under his wing linda thing. A friar tuck kinda guy.

They borh learn from each other etc.

He then helps them win some sort of war against another town or someone trying to take power.

Its not the martin Laurenence movie.

I dont knoe any of the actors, except the friar tuck guy, if i remenber right looks like roy brocksmith / in total,recall. Eg jowly, same type of look, but british
