A girl can see a slum from her window. Later she lives in the slum with her drunken husband. He falls down the stairs and dies. Another man comes along, and he is played by the same actor. Eventually she starts a puppet show and it is a success and brings prosperity to the slum neighborhood. It seems like it had Heddy Lamar and Dan Duryea in it. The title is the name of the neighborhood, like “Lindy’s Garden” or Flemming Downs
