80's or early 90's Asian Film (Live Action) with possible Robot or Machine thing

Another film that I barely remember. I rented it from Blockbuster sometime around 1995 and didn’t know that it was a foreign film until I started watching it at home. It was definitely Japanese and was in Black and White. The only scene I remember was in the beginning. A 7 or 8 foot tall robot thing was coming down some sort of corridor towards the camera and there were some kids trying to hide from it. Any help would be appreciated.

So this sounds like Gunhed, the timeline sounds about right 1989-1990. The opening has the Robots you mentioned walking down the corridor and it also starts in B/W. There are also some kids hiding out and you see them in the middle period of the film.

Love this movie too but unfortunately this is not it either lol. I also think that the movie came in a big box VHS case if that helps anyone but I'm not positive.

Well I finally came across this film again thanks to Tubi haha. Been looking for this for a long, long time. It is called “Zeiram (1991)” and it also has a sequel, “Zeiram 2 (1994)”.

That's wild! I have been looking for this one for over ten years. I had it posted on "NameThatMovie" a long time ago too. I am just glad the search is finally over.
