80s sci fi movie. robot controls steel triangle and squeezes mans waist in a house before man escapes.

What do you mean by "squeezes mans waist in a house"? The robot and the man are in a house and the robot squeezes the man's waist? Do you remember any other details?

So it isn't "Demon Seed" (1977) ? I watched a video from JoeKing12001 and it is more similar than my suggestion :-)

Things are controlled by a robot.

A large steel cube breaks apart into pyramids and grabs man.
