Maybe someone here might be able to help. I am trying to find the name of a movie I used to watch in the late 80s. This is a thriller movie made in the 80s. I just remember three scenes.
Nr. 1: A young man gets a phone call and the person tells him to write down a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper. It was probably around 20 digits. He has no idea what they mean.
Nr. 2: The young man is standing on a street corner in the suburbs. A newspaper van drives by and tosses out a bunch of newspapers tied together. The young man gets very angry and starts kicking them all over the place. Then a boy on a bike arrives and he is the paperboy coming to pick up those newspapers. The young man is very sorry and start helping the paperboy pick up the newspapers.
Nr. 3: The young man is lying in bed. He is looking at a digital alarm clock that is switching between what time it is and the date. He starts to notice that the date on the clock is the same as four digits on the piece of paper. He then starts to decipher what those numbers mean and they lead to a certain time and place that he will eventually get to during the end of the movie.

– DrSnakeNo the date had nothing to do with tragedies around the world. I can't remember but I think it was a place he was trying to get to and the numbers told him the time, date and location. I don't remember what he was after or if he was looking for someone.

– JoeKing12001Pretty sure because I watched this movie on TV somewhere around 1990 so I am pretty sure this is a late 80s movie. For a long time I thought this was the TV movie Moving Target (1988) but then I watched that movie and none of those scenes I remember are in that movie.
