It’s a horror movie they watched in 2017 and it was possibly quite new then. Filmed in the US, in a setting similar to where Honey Boo Boo lived (”redneck”, low income, kinda drab).
There’s a scene in which the main character drives home in a pickup truck and there’s a yellow staircase/stairwell and a wheelchair, possibly coming down the stairs. The main character was a female and had been taking care of an old woman, possibly her mother but not necessarily, at the old woman’s house.
They described the movie as very anxiety inducing, but not supernatural, more like psychological horror.
