Comical spurting of blood in 007 type film

A film I believe may be Italian. A black comedy. It could have been made in the 60’s or later. I saw it on UK TV in the 80’s as a kid.

The only scene I remember is a large room with a pool or bodies of water - sort of Sean Connery’s James Bond villains lair style decadence!

Male protagonist is finishing off the villains in the room - ‘Kill Bill’ style, but with a gun or shotgun. As the victims lay wounded or dead, comical blood sprays from their bodies like fountains high in the air. The image in my head is that the villains were dressed in black and wore sunglasses. But that may be a false memory. I remember being startled at the scene because of the mass of blood, but also slightly amused.

My first viewing of ‘Kill Bill Vol 1’ and seeing the comical blood spurt from limbs, made me think of the film in question. I just supposed the scene influenced Tarantino. However, I don’t see it in any of the films that he mentions as an influence. Unless I have not looked well enough.

Another image I recall, - although I may be mixing up scenes from another movie, is that one villain gets his head blown off and either his brains or eyes (or both) land on a dinner plate.

Thank you for any help.

You tried the James Coburn's Flint movies? Our Man Flint (1966) and In Like Flint (1967)?

I did not see your comment. so sorry I missed it. I feel like this film was similar to the Flint movies, however, those movies were not violent like this particular scene. In fact, i dont recall any blood in the flint movies. thank you for your help.

Could be the Fistful of Yen section of The Kentucky Fried Movie:

No mate. I know Kentucky Movie very well. And thank you for responding.

OK…This is probably too late (1991) but, Story of Ricky?

Not that either and thanks again for your help. The film in question was not an eastern - it was a west production which had a secret agent 007 feel if I remember correctly. I really appreciate your help. This is doing my head in!!

I realised that I had become obsessed with the Kill Bill comparison and completely failed to register that you said Italian!

Was the film intentionally funny, or taking itself seriously?

That's perfectly fine mate. You are trying to help me so I really appreciate it. I seem to recall that it was 'tongue in cheek' or it may have been a straight comedy. I only say Italian because I think it may have been dubbed in english. It could even have been a French film or just a badly dubbed US film.. I also believe this film is supposed to be a cult classic, not famous, but recommended for obscure collectors.

So many years later, I remember this film being spoken about on a film site somewhere when I got my first PC back in 2006. I REMEMBER THAT FILM! Or just the scene anyway. I totally forgot about it and now it has sprung to mind but I cannot recall much more about it. So I saw the scene in the 80s, saw it mentioned in around 2006, watched Kill Bill which reminded me of the film again and now I want to know the name of the film. It was in colour too! Sorry for the long essays!
