Trying to remember a movie I saw in the 90s,so the movie is possibly from the 90s or earlier. It’s a coming of age drama about an awkward not conventionally pretty young woman who has hallucinations. She’s sort of religious too and there’s a scene she hallucinates she’s seeing and speaking to Jesus Christ. I don’t remember anything else, but she loses her virginity to some guy at some point. The actress has long brown hair.

Not sure if it fits, but main girl has longer brown hair and is sort of religious. I know she speaks to Jesus but I don’t recall hallucinations and she does lose her virginity. It is slightly newer than 1990’s though.

There’s Mermaids from 1990? The Winona Ryder character is religious-I can’t remember if she actually hallucinates seeing Jesus Christ but she does lose her virginity to a groundskeeper.
