Dark, slow drama: woman sees a hooded candle procession of souls, and at the end another woman turns into a roaring red demon as the glass shatters

  • Seen on a minor Latin American cable channel between 2000 and 2006, dubbed into Latin American Spanish. It looked like a TV movie, not a big release: no famous actors and unusual names in the credits.

  • Dim, dark, slow drama/mystery with supernatural elements. Contemporary setting. Rural village with a Welsh/British feel, a forest and an elegant house. They drive on the left.

  • A white, slim woman in her 30s walks to a house through the woods and sees a procession of hooded figures carrying candles. Inside, the man of the house (30s) tells her it was a procession of souls. The Spanish dub called it “Santa Compaña” (a Galician legend), so the original may refer to a similar Welsh, Irish or Manx legend.

  • At some point, a woman kisses the protagonist in a car. The protagonist pulls away calmly and fixes her lipstick.

  • Ending: the two women have apparently had sex and are lying in a room with glass walls. The protagonist says something to the other woman, who instantly turns into a large, female, reddish, muscular demon, roars and covers her ears, the glass shatters, and it ends.

Already ruled out: The Gathering (2002), Second Name (2002), The Dark (2005), The Hunger (TV series), Sea of Souls, Strange, Hex, Shockers, Thirteen Chimes (2002), The Valdemar Legacy (2010), Dark Realm episodes “Emma’s Boy” and “The House Sitter”.
