Now, that you suggested it, I actually remember that I saw this movie once many years ago, now I remember the guy hiding in the feces. The problem was that the question says it is about an art FORGER, who makes fake paintings, but this guy is not a forger, but an art THIEF actually. This completely derailed my searches, I was so concentrated on the art forger plot point, but that was completely misleading. I surely will rewatch this movie. Great find, mimiko! :)
