I’m looking for a TV drama movie and it isn’t “Wasabi”. The protagonist is a white American or European who, after some 20 years, returns to Asia – probably China or Korea – to find his former lover. He then discovers he has a grown-up daughter – I recall that the girl had met her biological father and spoken to him. The actress looked Asian; it was hard to tell she was the daughter of a mixed-race relationship. The movie was probably in English. It was likely made in the 1990s or early 2000s.
Barbara Wood - Das Haus der Harmonie (TV movie 2005) is similar, but I'm not sure.
