Release date: 2010 - 2026.
High tech/cyberpunk dystopian future, climate change has caused the daytime to be so hot/irradiated that you can’t be outside in the sun. Starts in big city slums, most people are struggling and destitute. Main character is a dark skinned (not sure) truck driver who’s on the grumpy side due to a hard life. Dispatch boss gives him a new long haul assignment with a big payment, the driver is super dependable and usually drives solo, but they assign him a partner to go along. Things quickly go off the rails, the cargo causes them to be chased by multiple parties and shootouts follow. Tone of the film was pretty dark.
Other details: I believe the dangerous cargo ended up being seeds, which were illegal because of corporations or something. Partner guy might have been in a wheelchair. There were crazy sleeping bags they had to use. They looked like space blanket body bags but had a little window on them. People slept through the days and the bags were for radiation.
There was a scene with some kids playing outside and one got stuck in the sun and the driver saves the kid. The truck was junky, but really high tech alarm systems for the heat. It’s a more recent movie, 2010s or later.
It’s not:
A Black Knight (2023) episode.
