I saw this movie as a kid which would be the 80’s. I have no idea when the movie was actually made or who was in it. I can only remember bits and pieces. I remember a quest for knowledge or to be king or both? I remember a guy in a giant vat of something (oil?) by choice, giving advice. I remember the main character having to face off with a pack of coyotes, maybe coyote King? and he wins by not letting them get behind him. In the end he completes all the challenges and is shown the book. When he opens it there’s no words, just mirrors on each page. I remember him laughing and just walking away when he sees that.
