Film from 60s or 70s about a homeless pregnant woman

I think she had a relationship with a black man and then he was killed? I am unsure of that.

What I am sure of is that she is staying in a house where the owners are away. She leaves a note telling them she was there and some amount of money. She might add more money the longer she stays? Maybe she’s waiting for her boyfriend/husband/lover to come get her?

Saw this in the 70s, probably pre-75. TIA.

Sounds very similar to A Taste of Honey (1961)
a British B/W film starring Rita Tushingham
based on the play by Shelagh Delaney
Her boyfriend left to work on a merchant ship.
Good Luck! :four_leaf_clover:

That's the film. For some reason I thought it was set in Texas on the coast. No idea why.

There are a few scenes with them around the docks before he ships out, if that helps. Don't recall the location, but it might have been Liverpool.
