recent 1990+? film set in 1930s-end World War 2 about members of two Berlin German families, neighbors, one Jewish, one not. Jewish doctor saves life of member of non-Jewish family but later most members Jewish family sent to death camps; husband in non-Jewish family eventually becomes SS death camp commander. All Jews except one son who becomes Resistance fighter die in camps; SS commander commits suicide during interrogation by Americans. Name of film? Can’t find for life of me. Please help.
