This foreign movie, not cartoon, was in American theaters 1975, or 1976, or 1977, POSSIBLY 1978. Much of the movie is a quest for a Golden Apple. At one point some fake Golden Apples are put on a scale, the scale reveals them to be fake. At one point in a movie a man is tied up outside and a leaf talks to him. I think he puts the leaf in his mouth.
Also, a man was trapped in a very tall tower out in the middle of nowhere. He escapes, but I don’t remember how (this scene is NOT Repunzle Repunzle, let down your Golden Hair).
This was a fantasy movie, for children. It is not an english language film, it was dubbed. I’m not sure what the original language was. I do know that when theaters in the states would release it they were encouraged to give away apples to the theatergoing children as a promotional gimmick. There as paperwork that came to the theater with the Film suggesting exactly that. The movie was in color. The movie is NOT a cartoon.
The movie does not have Apple or Golden in the title.
It is not this movie. Zlaté jabĺčko (1975) | ČSFD.cz
Long ago I found the name on the old imdb forum AND I downloaded the film. Now I can find neither the name nor the downloaded film. I think perhaps one of the words in the film title might translate to Fairy, but I’m not sure. Tough one, thank you.
