I saw this movie on tv as a kid, in mid-90s but it’s probably from the 80s, and American. I’m not sure of the genre, maybe drama, maybe thriller, but also a bit comedic. I basically only remember this one funny scene:
So the main character is a man who goes to buy a car in what appears to be somehow futuristic car shop or factory. (His girlfriend is somewhere far away and he’s planning to find her, I think). So he’s sitting on the driver’s seat and the saleswoman next to him tells about the features in the car. First the man doesn’t want any extra features but the woman is persistent and tells him about all kind if crazy gadgets and in the end the man just laughs and says yes to everything she suggests.

Yes, it must be this one! I found the scene from youtube. It has all the elements, though my imagination might have exaggerated the memory a little bit along the years. I also found a mention that it has been broadcasted on Finnish tv in 1995 which sounds just right. I’ll watch the whole movie later if I happen to find it from somewhere. It’s on youtube but partly missing the sound. The main point of this question was to find out what kind of movie it was. I never thought it’s anything super good (or I would have remembered more about it). But it’s bothered me because I wasn’t sure if it was a comedy or a sci-fi thriller. A romantic comedy then. Ok. Thank you!
