Woman tries to persuade a man to stay at this house with lots of people. It’s a social gathering. He leaves promising to return. When he does the house has disappeared. Or has become rundown. I can’t remember which! They can’t attempt to try again and asking someone to stay for another 100 years!
No this isn’t the right movie. I saw it as a teenager in the 80’s.
