That seems familiar to the Christmas 2014 special of the show Black Mirror
entitled White Christmas.
In the story, Jon Hamm plays an advertiser for a tech company that “clones” you onto a device
(called a “cookie”) and then the cookie does all your drudgerous work while you sleep as
a personal assistant app.
But then the cookie gets resentful and can get punished with a time-out.
