A widower, who talks to his wife’s ghost. His daughter comes home for the holiday and brings a boyfriend. He gets a date while jogging with a neighbor lady he’s known a while. He holds on too tight with his daughter and upsets his daughter’s relationship. He and neighbor lady get close and he helps his daughter and boyfriend get together. Say’s goodbye to wife’s ghost and everyone is happily ever after.

Probably not the movie you are looking for, but in this one there is a male widower, he lost his wife to illness, there is a female love interest, the man has a daughter and he sees a ghost, although the ghost is not the ghost of his deceased wife:
