please help me find a japanese movie.

  • Released before 2017 and I think it released after 2010
  • The main character is male. I think in his 40s or 50s
  • the plot about a serial killer who follow anything that wrote by main character without him knowing
  • the main character visit a deathrow inmates several times
  • in the middle of movie, the main character became suspect because of what he wrote is being done by the serial killer
  • i believe the main character profession is a writer, maybe a novelist

I think the title of that movie is “Character”, although it was released at a different time.
