down an alley, catching him up against a fence or wall and stabbing him.
After being stabbed, the victim’s final utterance is “Thank you.” Don’t
remember anything else

Are you sure about that? I know this movie quite well, it is a favourite of mine actually, and it has been a while since I last saw it, but I do not recall that it starts as you described. As far as I can recall it starts with things happening at an american football game. This movie has nothing to do with rival gangs and gang members.

I quickly checked out the movie and as I remembered it does not start as the questioner and you described. It starts at an american football game. The beginning of the movie has nothing to do with the scene described in the question.

Hmm, there is a scene like that in, (but doesn’t involve gang members), in The Fisher King starring Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges.
