Looking for name of obscure treasure hunt movie

I’m looking for a lesser known probably very obscure movie. It is most probably from the 1970s but I’m not sure. It aired on German tv in the 1980s when I was a kid and was already older back then. it’s probably an American or Spanish or Italian or French film. it’s an adventure movie about a treasure hunt on an island most probably tropical. a group of adventurers follows the directions on a map they found in a figurine to a hidden treasure and each time they find the spot this only reveals another map pointing to a new location. this repeats several times. the film has a surreal tone. the group of adventurers face dangers like traps and cannibals and become progressively delusional.

Hi and thanks for the tip. It's on yt and I just had a peek but unfortunately it's not the one I'm looking for. The setting was more caribbean. A couple guys found a treasure map inside a figurine and then went to an island by boat where the treasure supposedly was buried. As far as I remember the island was a tropical jungle setting. When I saw it on German TV I was a little kid in the early 80s so my guess is the movie was older, like 70s or maybe even 60s. The whole vibe felt kind of surreal, in hindsight it would fit the 70s I guess.

One clue to add to my obscure movie: The setting was supposed to take place in more modern times, so it's no pirate story or something similar in this timeframe.
