I think people are taking reading of the earth core It’s heating up, I do remember that there was an elevator that went derp underground
at one point the main character goes to somewhere like Indian to talk to a colleague ( old friends). The colleague wife makes a special meal for him.
He tells his friend to pack up his family and leave.
