I saw a movie on normal TV when I was younger. It was about a girl and her dad. I believe the mother died. The young girl was building a soapbox car. Movie revolved around this girl and her friend ( a young boy). They raced down a road ( her in the soapbox and I believe he was on a bike). towards the end the young boy dies in an accident. I believe the actors were Irish.
