I think the adult asks the mother about his father and she replies “you know your father”

There is a small scene sort of resembling this on Desperate Housewives season 1 episode 18 where Bree watches the kids for Lynette (didn’t want to) and Bree says let’s make cookies or something similar and one of the boys spilled all the cookies on the floor and didn’t listen. I believe she made a comment about the dad. Without more information this is the only thing I can think of off hand.
I can’t remember either! It was definitely a movie. The mom replied “well we’ll see how it goes and if it’s too much…” indicating the kid wouldn’t be allow to stay

When did you see it? And what decade was the movie? 80's? 90's? 2000's? What language did they speak? was the movie American, European or Asian? The adult is a man? Does he drop the child for the mother to take care for a few hours or to raise the child?
