Movie within a movie: a film crew is trying to shoot a bank robbery scene but the actor who is playing the getaway driver holds up the production because he can't control the car very well and he can't remember his lines

Genre: Comedy.
The person I’m trying to find this for has seen it in the latter part of the 1980s.

The bank robbery scene:
It’s a small, dusty town. The getaway driver is supposed to speed into the frame with the car, while his partner is standing in front of a building, waiting for him.
Then he’s supposed to stop near him, jump out from the vehicle and ask him something along the lines of:

“Max! Where is the money/loot/dough?!”

Sounds simple but he keeps messing up.
On the first take, he drives in way too slow.
On the second take, he comes in so fast and brakes so hard that the resulting dust cloud makes the shot unusable.
Then he keeps deviating from the script, he can’t say that single line correctly.
After a while either the actor or the director completely loses it and just keeps repeating “Where is the shit?!” or something like that.
