A long time ago now, I watched a strange (and not particularly good) movie where, if memory serves, a woman’s trying to get back to the real world from some fantasy place that ended up being a kinda dark.
What I remember CLEARLY was the male companion she picked up along the way casually taking a fruit that takes hundreds of years to grow and lets you see into the future. He eats it (the fruit is small, I want to say apricot-like?) and sees a future where he betrays her and goes to the real world instead, but he ends up just being a waiter and its not actually a good life.
If I had to guess a release time, I’d say the 2000s? Not confident. Live-action film.
Please this has been driving me to insanity for years.
