Old British Horror

Old b&w from 50s. I saw it in early 60s on tv. Only reme.ber it must have been fall or winter there were no leaves and the skies were dark and cloudy throughout. There was some terror coming out of the sky that people looked up and saw then ran being pursued by invisible force killed them. They could not escape. What movie?

This has such a low likelihood of being correct, I hate to post it as an answer. But can you rule out a very famous B&W British horror from 1957, Night of the Demon (aka Curse of the Demon)? The chilly, gloomy atmosphere is as you describe. When the demon attacks, it appears in roiling clouds of smoke in the night sky. The victim looks up at the sky, sees the demon, runs in terror, but can never escape it. But it isn't an invisible force as you describe it. So probably you are looking for a movie that is more obscure than this highly celebrated horror film.

Not too bad an answer, the cloud demon came to my mind also.

Maybe Fiend Without a Face from 1958

Thanks…funny watched Fiend Without A Face just a couple days ago…but it is not the one…

I am sad it is not the one, although it was a long shot. Good luck in finding it.

Is it a horror movie?

Or could it be an episode out of Twilight Zone

It is a British Horror film i believe. It took place in the English countryside. It was late in the year for all the trees were bare. The terror in this film came from the sky. Invisible it drove victims stark raving mad. They ran from it looking over their shoulders to no avail for no one could escape it…all i remember

There’s three of these, the trailer does show the countryside as well:

Another attempt: [

The Trollenberg Terror

](The Crawling Eye (1958) - IMDb)

This is a curveball but is is Jabberwocky? In the early parts of the movie the attacks of the monster are filmed in the way you describe.
