I am trying to find the name of an old cartoon I had on VHS. This was around 1990-2000, but the cartoon could have been older than that. It was in color, and I remember it being hand-drawn and having film grain. I watched it in Polish, but it could have been dubbed.
The cartoon was about a group of anthropomorphic animals that live in a big wide hut in Africa that may have been attached to a tree. There’s a lion, a zebra, and some other animals, and they drive a jeep and sometimes wear safari hats (or pith helms). In one episode, I remember them going sand sailing. Another one I think had them digging a groove to irrigate a farm or something?
I'm almost sure that it isn't Polish animation, because I'm Polish and I have a bachelor's degree from Polish animation history. I think that it could be only dubbing. Is it possible that it is "Mama Mirabelle's" ?
– wositelecWow thank you, I guess that rules it out as a Polish animation. It's not Mama Mirabelle's though, I remember the animals all being bipedal (or at least the main characters were). Kinda like the character "Zigby", but I'm certain it's not Zigby that I'm thinking of since I distinctly remember it being a 2D animation. And thinking about it some more, it was probably an animation from the 70's or 80's.
– placido.corbinLOL. I think that it's entitled "Tydzień przygód w Afryce". Somebody from Polish Facebook group gave me a title. Perhaps it is your animated series, but it is extremely rare. I didn't watch never and I'm very suprised. It isn't in IMDB database.
– wositelecYES! That's the animation I was looking for! Thank you so much! So it was Polish after all. And that's interesting to hear that it's extremely rare, I remember watching it on a VHS my parents rented from a store, but I think it closed down before we we could return it, so I probably still have it somewhere. I have a ton of VHS tapes though, so I thought it might be faster to ask online since I mainly just wanted to remember the title. Anyways, I will try and see if I can add it to IMDB for posterity, and thank you again for helping me.
– placido.corbinYou're welcome :-) Proszę bardzo :-)
