I’m not sure if this was a full film or just a short film, but I discovered it through a band on Instagram many years ago who used scenes from it in one of their music videos. It looks old, maybe from the 60’s or 70’s, and is animated in a style closer to European animation than Disney animation. It had a very surreal atmosphere and was not in English- I believe it was in French. A boy and girl are on a boat sailing across a sunny sea, and they land/wash up on an island with a large castle. They enter the castle walls, but the whole castle/town seems abandoned. That night, a whale carcass washes up on shore and transforms into multiple naked women who dance on the beach in the moonlight, then dance through the gates into the town. The boy and girl watch. A red gleam from a high tower catches the boy’s eye, and he climbs the tower to investigate, and finds something evil with a glowing red eye. That’s all I remember, but any help is appreciated!
