I was 12 when I watched the movie and was so scared by a certain scene I turned it off!
Scene: “teenagers go to a carnival, they all sit to watch a magic show but the magician is drunk I believe. And he calls on one of the teenage girls(dark hair) to go into a standing box with her face exposed as he does his big trick. But he impales her in the chest and blood comes from her mouth, she’s dead. Some of the crowd cheers but some are horrified.”
Google tells me it’s 1981 Fun house, but that isn’t it.

– celebes.warty.pigAre you sure it isn't Funhouse? The magician about 25 mins. in drinks on stage, has the box like you say, dark haired girl, and impales her. she screams and bleeds from her mouth and everyone gasps. Then it is revealed a trick and they clap.
