It’s a kids’ movie (maybe from the 90s or 80s) where a modern kid finds an item that can grant him wishes. There is a man who is always drunk, and in one scene, the kid uses one of his wishes to make this man sober. Later, in another scene, the same man finds the sword Excalibur abandoned on a table (perhaps they traveled through time or entered a book?), and he uses it to fight and help the kid.

No, but thanks for trying! For what I remember, it was a younger kid around 12 years maybe, and Excalibur wasn't something really important in the movie, it was like they just went to King's Arthurs place, found the sword abandoned in a dark room on a table with covered cobwebs, and the modern sober man got the sword. I remember he said something like "The great sword Excalibur abandoned in a place like this"
