Period piece turn of the century

I’m trying to remember a movie, I believe it might’ve been based on a book, set turn-of-the-century, possibly Victorian era. A girl has a crush on a guy and is embarrassed that he prefers reading to playing tennis (or racquetball), or something to that effect. There’s definitely a man reading instead of participating in the game and either he’s teased over it, or she is, because she likes him.

Maybe?:

It is based on the 1908 novel by E.M. Forster, and it is set turn-of-the-century.

Quotes from the below Wikipedia plot:
In 1907 a young Englishwoman, Lucy Honeychurch,”
”Freddy invites George to play tennis at Windy Corner, the Honeychurch home, during which Cecil reads Miss Lavish’s latest novel set in Italy. As Cecil mockingly reads aloud to Lucy and George,”
