Hi all. I’m trying to find the name of a film I watched when I was younger. I have very limited information about it, only specific scenes, so will try my best.
The opening scene is a young girl (teenager) running through what I think was a cornfield at night. I remember this being quite tense as if she is being chased. She is scared, but I don’t think you ever see what is chasing her. She eventually gets to her house where she runs in the front door and there is an immediate sense of safety as her family is there. I have a vague memory of them having a big meal or are cooking at the time.
The main protagonist is the teenage/young girl. The antagonist is a man who looks human but is clearly not by the end of the film. He has some kind of supernatural abilities.
Near the end of the film there is a scene at a funfair. The main character (female from opening scene) and a teenage boy are on a ferris wheel. They are scared. The main antagonist appears in the sky as a menacing cloud (similar to the Frightnight poster).
I watched this when I was quite young, maybe 10 years old. I don’t ever remember this one being gory or violent, but suspenseful and scary for my age. maybe it was more family friendly than I remember, I just don’t know.
I get the impression that the film was from the 80s, but possibly early 90s too.
I know this isn’t much to go by but hopefully someone with knowledge of more obscure films.
