I think it was a 90’s or 00’s drama, a young blonde (?) woman is working for a wealthy family, maybe staying in their large country house. They are in the provinces. She is given a small red ( think) car to get around in, maybe a Renault 5. She does something, maybe has an affair with the husband, I can’t recall, causing a problem. One of the last scenes is where she walks over the lawn to speak to the wife/matriarch who is gardening. There is a frosty exchange, the young woman says she is keeping the car.
I’m almost certain that this is not it because the maid can’t drive a car in this one but otherwise it’s similar:
