Watched it like 10ish years ago so I don’t remember a lot. It felt very old Hollywood, Gone With The Wind type movie.
A guy dies and goes to Hell? via an elevator, talks to the Devil about his life, and his wife maybe. That part is filmed in color.
The scenes from his life might be filmed in black and white, partly at least. I do remember some B&W scenes.
Reminds me of Heaven Can Wait (1943)

Although Heaven Can Wait is likelier soulution, the mix of colour and black-and-white scenes made me think of A Matter of Life and Death (1946). It is not a Classical Hollywood film, but it is a British film from that era.
