Red haired elderly, dying woman laying on couch in big house, telling her memoirs to a young woman writer. She has two red haired sisters, one is a ghost like love child

The film tells of a attractive red haired elderly, cranky, dying woman laying on couch in big rambling house. She is telling her memoirs to a (reluctant at first) young woman writer. The elderly lady has two red haired sisters, one is a ghost like love child - but we do not know about the existence of the third red head child until the end of the film.
I watched it last year and would love to see if there is a book, which would go into more depth…

The movie looked like it was from the 80's, 90's, etc? Were there famous actors? Was it American. European?

It's probably "The Thirteenth Tale"; there is a book which I've read -- if I remember correctly the elderly author recounts stories of her childhood and especially of her twin sister, but certain details don't add up about the things she's saying. Then towards the end it's revealed that she was actually a triplet not a twin, and the third sister was the missing link between all these stories.

Sounds somewhat like The curious Case of Benjamin Buttons. The red haired lady dying having a daughter read from her diary stories and they were estranged. Things come out over the course but it tells a story in the middle. Not sure if this is it.

Is it this one? The Thirteenth Tale (2013) – I haven’t seen the film but I read the book it was based on and the plot was almost exactly like what you described.
