Romantic comedy, rage room, spousal loyalty testing agency

“I watched it on TV in the early 2000s. I assume it was made in the 1990s but I can be wrong. And i think it’s a German film, but I can be wrong about that too.

The film starts with a young couple in love. The girl is still studying, I don’t remember anything about the guy. The girls introduces the guy to her mother and says that she is in love with him. The mother is extremely unhappy about it.

She also works in an agency that spies on potentially unfaithful husbands and provides an “aftercare” service to their wives if it is proven that their husbands have cheated.

One of the most memorable scenes takes place in an anger room where female clients who have been cheated on wears protective gear and breaks plates on the wall to relieve their anger.

The mother decides to break off the relationship. She instructs one of her agents to seduce her daughter’s boyfriend.

Another memorable scene happens at the end. I remember the girl eventually finding out about it, and getting angry with her mother. She runs away. I think the film ends with the girl leaving in a van. I think it looks like a hippie van, but I’m not sure.

There was also at least one scene featuring a topless woman towards the end of the film. But I can’t remember if she was the mother, daughter or the hired girl.”

My searching effect using IMDB filters (release date between 1990 and 2003, Germany and plot field entitled “cheat”) and it’s one guess only.

”When cool, cute Daniel turns up in her class one day, 16-year-old Nicole feels like Cinderella who’s just found her Prince Charming. The two of them hit it off fabulously. If only Nicole’s mother Sonja weren’t constantly trying to undermine her faith in the male sex. Having divorced Sven, Nicole’s dad, and set up an agency specialized in trapping cheating husbands; Sonja is used to looking at men with an extremely critical eye. Of course it’s all for Nicole’s good, but there are limits to a mother’s concern! With Sven’s active support, Nicole and Daniel clear every hurdle that Sonja puts in their way, even dodging the pitfalls provided by Daniel’s gorgeous ex. Who cares whether they live happily ever after - they’re happy now, and that’s what counts!” - Source: IMDB
