there was this movie I saw when I was about 6-7 about 2001/2 but no later than 2003.
taking place when there were slaves or maybe she was just a maid? I remember the daughters got along but the white mother disapproved. One of their daughters died from some illness ( I think it was the white daughter). and some time later the black daughter dies from it as well (I might have them mixed up).
In the end the mothers turned to one another and bonded over their grief. a specific part I remember is a mother holding a mirror under the nose/mouth to check one of the dying daughters breath.
