Hi, everyone

I’m trying to remember a movie probably from the 80’s or 90’s. The cougar scares a little girl and she stops talking in this movie.

I don’t remember the beginning exactly, but I think it was like this. A little girl is playing in the meadow and suddenly a cougar appears in front of her. At the same time, her father or brother comes out of the woods, shoots at the cougar and it runs away. The little girl is frightened and stops talking.

Her brothers try to catch the cougar and dig a trap, but only the dog gets caught in it. They gradually tame the dog and name it Boomer or Cooper, but I’m not sure. The dog becomes their companion.

Then, some time later, a cougar appears in their garden and wants to attack one of the brothers. The little girl sees this and starts screaming. Her grandfather hears her and shoots at the cougar but misses.

I think after that they went on a cougar hunt and took the dog with them.
At the end of the movie, the dog is fighting the cougar on top of the mountain. During the fight, the cougar falls down and dies. The dog is injured but survives.
