I believe I rented this movie on DVD. 2000-2005.

The movie starts off with a man jumping up onto a bench and moving his hand near a light which flickers when he gets close.

There was a big narrative about how short life was and comparing it to days or minutes. “22000 days in your life.”

The movie ends with the main character in the back of a car. They show the car driving down the road and all the street lights start turning off as he drives by.

I think the main characters had facial piercings. Possibly a scene with rats. People living underground. The main character trying to sell a script he wrote.

Any help would be nice. Cheers.
